The Freshman Mentorship Program, established in 2017, connects incoming Freshman students with trained AUB peer mentors who help ease the transition into university life. As former Freshman students, mentors offer social and emotional support, help newcomers navigate campus life, and foster a strong sense of belonging within the AUB and FAS community.
While mentors do not provide academic advising, mental health support, or academic tutoring, they work closely with academic advisers and are well-versed in university services, enabling them to guide students to the appropriate resources when needed.
Mentors support Freshman students by:
- Welcoming and supporting freshman students in settling in during orientation week
- Assisting with course registration
- Organizing social and community building events‑building events
- Answering questions about AUB life and student services
- Familiarizing students with AUB's campus, clubs, societies, and Beirut more generally
