Academics are an integral part of your journey, but we know the key to a successful academic journey is balance! The Freshman Program offers a variety of events throughout the academic year where you can have fun, destress, and meet other freshman students. Stay tuned on the Mentorship WhatsApp group and Instagram page for updates!
The Annual Events:
The Freshman Welcome Party: the welcome party is a social event held at the start of every semester to facilitate freshmen community building. Examples of the FWP event include: the Open Mic Welcome Party and Virtual Escape the Room Welcome Party.
Major(s) Carnival: this is an annual carnival that is held for freshman students and involves student societies. Participating student societies are given a booth and are encouraged to include activities or interesting experiments to give students a glimpse of what it is like to join their majors.
Pizza Parties: the Freshman Mentorship Program (FMP) regularly holds pizza parties which may be merged with other activities
Movie Nights: The Freshman Mentorship Program (FMP) regularly holds variously themed movie nights, such as the Halloween costume competition movie night.
Other events we have held:
Let’s Talk Resilience: this event was held when the suicide rates in Lebanon were rising. The event was a student-led conference and the primary aim was for freshman students to feel seen in times of uncertainty.
Game Night: this social event was held as a means of destressing and included various indoor activities.
Student Tours and Community Building: the Freshman Mentors often hold various community building events and academically oriented events such as campus tours and mock registrations.
